Last Saturday night, Joyce and I were invited to the Bartlett High School's presentation of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," by William Shakespeare. The real reason we went was to see Brian and Linda S.'s daughter, Rebecca, play the part of Hermia.
I don't know what I was expecting, but, once we got there, I was amazed at the superb performances of these young people. They were amazing! Rebecca S. did an outstanding job playing her part, and the young people who played Lysander, Helena, Demetrius, Puck, and others never missed a beat for over two, very upbeat, hours.
The Shakespearean language seemed most difficult to master, but, after a few minutes, I began to pick up on the plot and how the characters fit into it. The words of the writer flew from the lips of the actors as the constant action, from all parts of the stage, kept your undivided attention.
It was a most enjoyable evening. Thanks for the invitation.
